Fantastic whimsical oil on canvas painting of a 19th century woman in a dancers costume by artist Ira Yeager (American 1938-2022). The vibrant colorful painting depicts a 19th century scene of costumed woman in a Turkish or Orientalism aesthetic. The costume is embellished with a jeweled turban and the dancer has faux-pearl earrings attached to the painting. The painting has a speckled border around the edge an homage to when the artist could not afford frames for his paintings. Signed by the artist on the lower right corner with a fictional date of 1820. The painting has a gloss varnish finish. From an estate in the Napa Valley, CA.
