The painting depicts the lovely Italian countryside with charming personages dressed in classical country attire in the foreground feeding goats at the foot of a ruin. A man and woman are fishing in the river which extends under a bridge on which people are walking to a house. The background depicts mountains with voluminous cloud cover. Set within a giltwood frame with a fine mottled design.
