About the Item

An Italian oil on canvas still life painting from the 19th century depicting fruits in front of a column and an open sky, in giltwood frame. Created in Italy during the 19th century, this oil on canvas still life painting depicts a delicate arrangement of fruits made of pumpkin, grapes, peaches and prunes, disposed on a brown colored, wicker reminiscent fabric. In a rather traditional manner, a column is represented on the right side behind one of the grapes' leaves. The scene opens on the right to a golden, Venetian inspired sky. Initialed DMG in black lower right, the painting is set inside a carved giltwood frame, adorned with a regular rhythm of flowers. With its elegant subject and golden tones, this Italian oil on canvas still life painting from the 19th century will make for a wonderful addition to any home, perhaps hung above a side table, a buffet or a demilune.
