About the Item
A most decorative and high quality pair of Italian 19th century Pietra Dura marble plaques. Each stunning Pietra Dura plaque is made with a Black Belgian marble background and double edged with Giallo Antico marble. Inside the Giallo Antico marble bands with Black Belgian marble background is an urn atop a Rosso Antico base support. The urn is made of a Giallo Antico marble body with accents of Sienna marble and Lapis Lazuli marble handles and decorative bands around the edges. Emerging from the top of the urn is a floral bouquet of leaves and reeds made of Rosso Antico Tulips, Verde Antico reeds, Lapis Lazuli marble Iris flowers and Giallo Antico Lily flowers. Each high quality Pietra Dura plaque is set within a fine rectangular mottled edged Giltwood frame.
