A beautiful and most elegant Italian early 19th century Louis XVI st. Gouache with Giltwood painting. This finely detailed Gouache is set within a rectangular Giltwood Louis XVI st. frame with a central oval opening. The oval painting depicts a colorful and lively scene of the landscape in Naples, Italy with Mount Vesuvius in the background. The finely carved Giltwood frame displays mottled edges, a foliate outer band, and triangular carved pedals in each corner around the oval painting.
