This well executed scene of a period courtship is set within an elegant ebonized Fruitwood and Giltwood frame. The painting showcases a young woman dressed in period attire sitting in a palatial estate while reviewing letters from a box. Standing next to her is a well dressed gentlemen also in period attire while gesturing to the letters, and with additional letters on the floor. A charming parrot is perched on a stand to the left, with a wonderful landscape scene behind.
