Fisherman and his dog, on the coast near Marseille: oil on canvas of very large size (rare) signed J Suchet and dated 1881. 1 sink to the canvas and paint cracks. Simple frame - original canvas Painting late XIXth century Joseph Suchet is a painter from Marseille (1824-1896), he studied at the School of Fine Arts in Marseille and became a specialist in landscapes but especially in seascapes. He depicts with great realism the life of fishermen in the Marseille region and coastal landscapes. Several of his works are kept in museums, including the Fine Arts Museum in Marseille and the Cantini Museum. H 118 cm W 122 cm
