James Fairman, Scottish-American, 1826 to 1904, oil on canvas painting. The artwork depicts a panoramic view of the Windsor Castle. Titled Windsor Castle From the River. Signed in the lower right. Undated. Unframed. James Fairman was a Scottish-born American landscape painter, art teacher, and military officer. He came to the United States in 1832, and studied at the National Academy of Design in 1842. After serving as a colonel in the Civil War, he opened a studio in New York City. Collectible Fine Art, European Landscape.
