About the Item

This is a lovely pair of watercolor paintings of two young children by British portrait painter James Ramsay (1789-1854). One depicts a little girl clutching her kitten and the other is a boy with his bow and arrow. Watercolor on linen laid on canvas in beautiful lemon gilt frames. Signed in the lower right corner of the girl with kitten. Ramsay's works are represented in several museums and galleries around Britain and is best known for painting portraits of famous people of his time.
