About the Item
An impressive large scale ( Unframed ) mixed media oil
acrylic painting by South African artist Cyril Fradan
The subject is an imposing figure of a man wearing a long abstract patterned cape standing on a misty rocky coastline.
Painted mainly in shades of blue the work exudes a mystical impression.
Fradan was an artist and designer ( 1928 - 1997 ) who worked exclusively in acrylic paints, incorporating various Glazing techniques.
South African he relocated to London in the 1960s and successfully exhibited his works in British and European art centres.
As well as painting Fradan provided costume designs in 1955 for Shakespeare Hamlet, 1966 Yeats Purgatory.
He held annual summer music festivals at his home in Addison gardens.
