About the Item
The grand Georgain oil on canvas portrait stands nearly five feet tall and depicts a handsome middle aged gentleman wearing a wig, a smart dress coat with long waistcoat and white silk ruffles at the neck and cuffs. It dates to the early half of the 18th century. It is well painted with good facial features and detail of the clothing. The hands are also carefully executed.
The carved weood and gesso frame is original and the painting is in good unrestored, 'Country House condition'. It has been relined and there is a small tear that has been well repaired to the top right corner.
The canvas size is 120cms by 101cms.
