Oil on canvas ''the Descent from the Cross'' or "La Descente de la Croix" in the style of Peter Paul Rubens
the Descent from the Cross has been called a Baroque masterpiece — perhaps due to its monumentality — but it is also considered to be the first work of Rubens' “Classicist” period, which characterized his style from about 1612 to 1620.
Highly sought after original copy of the masterpiece that Rubens painted, it shows it's age well, some repairs but when it hangs on the wall it is an impressive antique canvas which we dated around 1790, master painter unknow.
Size is height 128cm, width 78cm.

I've been very fortunate to purchase this very RARE Marilyn Monroe cloth print on our buying trip throughout Europe, We have never seen another like it in all our years of collecting unusual 1950 /60’s retro items. We have done our online research and could not find another world wide so this piece is a truly one off, or anything that even comes close to it.
Constructed of cloth, bamboo and wood, the piece measures about 70 inches / 178cm tall and 3 feet / 91cm wide. There are some signs of wear on the fabric which we have all tried to list in the photos.

Beautifully painted, probably in the 19th or early 20th centuries, this copy of the famed "Le Transport du Christ au Tombeau" painting by Titian (Tiziano) in the collection of the Louvre in Paris, was recently found in the attic of a Hudson Valley monastery.
