Louis Gustave Cambier (1874-1949)
Titled: "Intérieur D'atelier" (Workshop interior).
This magnificent large oil painting on canvas depicts an elegantly dressed artist in his workshop touching up a sculpture in a form of a nude man standing next to a tiger. The workshop is filled with paintings and sculptures, and a young model is sitting on a bench behind the artist.
The painting is housed in a carved giltwood frame.

Louis-Gustave Cambier, was born in Schaerbeek in 1874 and died in Ixelled in 1949, was a Belgian painter. Student of Jean-Francois Portaels at the Academy of Fine Arts in Brussles, married to Juliette Cambier. He received an honorable mention at the Salon des Artistes Francais in 1906.
