About the Item
The colors remain vivid in this 4' tall original oil on canvas painting of Greek gods Zeus and Hera. Unsigned.
This portrayal of the love of the gods includes Zeus, king of the gods and ruler of heaven and Hera, wife of Zeus, queen of the gods and marriage (her peacock is seen in lower left corner).
The original painting was created by Italian painter Antonio Carracci (1583-1618) and hangs in the Galleria Borghese, Rome.
Condition: Age related craquelure and minor peelings throughout, tear at lower right, scuffs, old repairs.
Canvas will benefit from light cleaning which we leave to discretion of buyer.
