About the Item

Beautiful oil painting on a wooden panel, set in a period frame of carved wood and gilded with gold leaf, to which period wooden supports were added to fit the frame. The painting depicts the Madonna unveiling the baby Jesus. The woman wears traditional clothing, a red robe and a blue veil, surmounted by a thin halo of stars. In her hands, she holds the swaddling clothes of the naked baby Jesus, who is adorned with a radiant halo. This painting is remarkable for its stylistic rendering of detail and the tenderness expressed, highlighted by the touching heads of the mother and child and their intense gazes. The colors are original, and very few restorations are noted. This is a painting of great taste and style, capable of lending elegance and a touch of antiquity to any setting.
