About the Item
A fine Ukrainian impasto oil on board painting.
By Leon Oziasovych Kopelman (b. 1904 Vovchynets, Ukraine)
Depicting a couple on a village path (likely in the Carpathian Mountains) with forest to one side and house on a rise and majestically large pine tree to the other.
With an old Ukrainian label to the reverse.
Kopelman was a Ukrainian born painter, who trained at the Art Academy in Florence, Italy in the 1920s and continued to paint in Soviet occupied Ukraine in the 20th century.
Simply a wonderful, bucolic Ukrainian painting!

It is in overall good, as-pictured, used estate condition.
Condition Details:
There is possibly a few small crazing lines in the thicker parts of the impasto paint. Otherwise, there are some shallow nicks and wear to the frame, some fine
light surface scratches and other signs of expected light wear consistent with age.
