A classical yet modern acrylic painting on Masonite titled "#17 Bas-Relief (Horses)" by Ljubo Biro. Signed mid-bottom. Circa 1960s. A unique textural painting with a rich impasto. Biro was a self taught Yugoslav artist that settled in Michigan in 1964. His paintings are a nod to Roman-Greco art with a contemporary perspective. From a private collection. Dimensions: 31.25"w x 1.5"d x 31.25"h (framed). In very good vintage condition.
