About the Item

Mark Palmer a native Buffalonian established his art career while a 20 year resident of Washington, DC. His vibrant abstract works ranging from watercolors to mixed media often seek balance between structure and chaos. Jessica Dawson, former Washington Post art critic wrote "D.C. artist Mark Palmer's works on paper may be small-many are just a few inches across but they crackle with energy". In 2002, Palmer abandoning his cosmopolitan city life in D.C. migrated to Paducah, Kentucky to help Pioneer the resurgence of a blighted historic neighborhood called "Lowertown" into an artist Community. It was there that he purchased an abandoned pre-civil war apartment building. Upon its complete renovation the building gave birth to his gallery, artist retreat and living space. Palmer has exhibited his work over the years in many solo and group exhibitions in the greater Washington, D.C. area, Western New York, Provincetown, MA and Paducah, KY. Additionally, he has had shown in San Francisco, Philadelphia, Kansas City, and St. Louis. Palmers work hangs in both private and corporate collections throughout the United States, Canada, Australia and Europe. In 2015, Palmer moved to Florida's space coast where he maintains his studio and home.
