Trained in Paris in direct contact with the avant-garde, Michel Le Roy was a student and disciple of Robert Delaunay, from whom he absorbed the power of color, while also absorbing the teachings of Wassily Kandinsky and Albert Gleizes. Present at numerous salons and exhibitions, Le Roy moved at the heart of the 20th-century art scene, exhibiting notably alongside Georges Braque, Pablo Picasso, Raoul Dufy, and Francis Picabia.
