About the Item

Elegant pastel painting on paper, framed in a lacquered and gilded wooden frame and protected by glass. Inspired by the pose of a famous painting by the Spanish painter Murillo (1618-1682), it depicts a girl displaying flowers on her shawl, also recalling an allegory of spring. The female figure is depicted in the frontal foreground, sitting on the base of a building whose details can barely be seen in the background. The girl has a playful and happy expression, looking directly at the viewer. She is dressed in oriental style, her head covered and adorned with flowers, and wears a finely crafted dress. This work is remarkable for its technique and stylistic rendering, in its details and particulars, capable of lending a touch of elegance and antiquity to any setting.
