About the Item
A painting titled " Mardi Gras " by female Cincinnati artist Rita Wasserman who is now 91 was known for her different styles of art , sculpture , painting and construction . This larger colorful , playful piece painted on canvas in tones of the New Orleans partying lifestyle and faces from various floats . None of her pieces were signed because she believed that art is for everyone and by signing it she would claim it for herself . During the period she exhibited in area galleries and was a member of the Art Guild and private studios also volunteering at the Cincinnati Art Museum .
