About the Item
This is a wonderful mid-century still life by American born painter Roy Mandel. Signed lower right and dated 1978. In a contemporary wooden frame.
This painting has a wonderful materiality and would look especially good in a modern interior.
Roy Mandel was born in Massachusetts in 1942 and studied in Boston and Philadelphia.
In 1972 he emigrated to Nova Scotia, Canada, where he has lived and worked ever since.
In wonderful condition with a few tiny nicks in the upper left and one small scratch to the left of the vase, commensurate with age.
