Gorgeous find. This is a vibrant mid-century modern impasto still life—a bouquet abstracted into bold circular blooms. The palette-knife surface, chunky strokes, and sunny ochre/yellow field set against a teal-blue tabletop place it stylistically in the 1950s–70s colorist school (American or European). The verso inventory mark “MX14509” suggests former gallery or decorator showroom stock. Unsigned, but decorative scale, saturated color, and confident handling make it a strong interior piece, circa 1950–70, depicting an abstract bouquet rendered in thick impasto. The concentric blooms are in cerulean, coral and ivory hover over a teal tabletop, set against a luminous ochre ground. The vigorous palette-knife work and simplified forms evoke Fauvist and Abstract Expressionist influences, giving the still life a lively, modern presence. Approximately 34 x 22 inches; presented in a vintage frame. A striking color statement for contemporary interiors and collectors of mid-century painting.
