Picturesque scene of a French village, with its typical buildings and street corners.
Oil on canvas with very subtle use of colors, in a palette of blues and greens.
Vivid red and yellow notes adding a focal point in the main street perspective.
Rich paint texture and brushstrokes.
Signed by the artist at the bottom left corner and at the back.
The back shows the artwork title "Paysage de Tourette" and a label of the exhibition "Vichy Grand Prix International de Peinture”.

About the artist :
Joseph RAUMANN was born in 1908 in Budapest, Hungary, and passed away on January 17, 1999, in Agen, France.
Initially devoted to symbolic abstraction, he later transitioned to a more figurative style of art.
A self-taught artist, Joseph Raumann decided to emigrate to France and make a living from his art.
Joseph Raumann's main subjects were scenes with figures, cities and villages and aquatic landscapes.
In 1980, he was awarded the Grand Prix of the city of Agen. He also became a member of the Sociétaires des Amis des Arts d’Agen.
Joseph Raumann exhibited his work in numerous galleries and museums, including Goupil in Paris.
His work was influenced by Eugène Boudin, particularly in his seascapes and riverside scenes with dramatic skies.
