A 1950s still life in the manner of George Braque or Fernand Leger by the noted Washington DC artist, Leonard Maurer (1912-1976). Maurer was a frequent exhibitor at the Corcoran Gallery and in 1979, three years after his death, the Phillips Collection, the prestigious Franz Bader Gallery, and the Watkins Gallery at American University all held simultaneous exhibitions celebrating his career in DC. Presented in a gold leaf frame.
