About the Item
George Vihos’s art “reflects a deep and mystical childhood.” Vihos’s work is in many important permanent collections including such noted institiutions as the Detroit Institute of Arts, the Art Institute of Chicago, Oakland University, the Dennis Musuem Center, and the Southern Vermont Arts Center. Vihos received a prestigous U.S. Fulbright–Hays fellowship study in Italy.
“In the past 40 years, my reputation has been modeled from my approach to draw on mural size, seamless paper. The truth highlights the familiar and predictable underlying nature of things for all artists. My work has reached proportions that stagger my own imagination” the artists states.
Vihos’s has patened a museum quality archival framing system, wonderfully represented here in this work.
