Original large oil on canvas painting of older man courting a younger lady on a sunny road near Lake Garda, Italy.
Signed and dated H. Brasen 1884.
Exhibited: Charlottenborg 1885 no. 53.
Condition: Craquelure, retouches. A minor repair/patch on the reverse. Minor separation at corners. A light surface cleaning is recommended.
Artist:Hans Brasen (b. Hillerød 1849, d. Copenhagen 1930) was first apprenticed under master painter Ernst Schmiegelow (1826-1888) before advancing to the prestigious Danish Royal Academy of Fine Art.
