About the Item
This antique original oil painting on canvas was done by James Edwin Meadows, a known British artist, in approximately 1860 in the period Victorian style. The painting depicts an English countryside with a mother and children in the foreground. The painting is in its original wood and ornate gesso frame and is clearly signed "J.E. Meadows" in the lower right corner. The dimensions posted below refer to the frame and the painting itself measures twenty five and a half inches wide and seventeen and a quarter inches in height.
