A one-of-a-kind set of signed German paintings, these vertically oriented landscapes are elegantly ensconced within identical large foliate giltwood frames. The first offering transports viewers to a tranquil countryside scene. In this pastoral setting, a shepherd gently guides two cows and a flock of sheep along a winding country road. The mid-autumn ambiance is palpable, with the trees on their left baring their branches or sporting turned leaves, evoking a sense of seasonal transition. Repaired: Some old restoration work to the giltwood frames. Wear consistent with age and use. Minor losses. Some craquelure to canvases and minor losses and old touch ups to frames. Signatures appear slightly different, so hard to confirm same artist. Shows striking similarities and style and scale, so would be hard to imagine different artists.
