Born in Norwich in 1945 Jamieson was educated at Byam School of Painting
Drawing before studying at the Royal Academy. Jamieson's works are held in various notable private and public collections including, unsurprisngly for a painter of seasides and the sea, the National Maritime Museum, and The Prince of Wales' collection.
This piece shows the Café Blue in Weymouth, Dorset. The influence of Lowry is clear in the form of the figures going about their lives at the sea front, the impressionistic rendering of the Weymouth shop fronts lends an ethereal haze to the seaside resort, and the bold blue borrows heavily from hockney to bring depth and life.
