Unlike his other works often described as super realist landscape, this painting of Rackstraw Downes (B.1939) presents an abstract rendering with hard edge forms and strong juxtaposition of colors. From early period of Downes' artistic career the painting attests a different capacity of his visual language. Signed with artist's initial lower right corner.
