Eva Vincent was a Hungarian-American artist!
Very little is known about her except that she moved to the US in the 1920s, her few works are incredibly rare and she retired in the late 1940s to Arizona for the dry desert climate. Her works capture the purity of the early Bauhaus period and have been described as "Wassily Kandinsky meets Picasso" and add a unique female perspective on Bauhaus.
Eva Vincent's works share Kandinsky's Bauhaus philosophy that combinations of color and line might have innate spiritual and psychological effects on the viewer. Her use of color here is lyrical, and has a musical quality that makes the work undeniably appealing and compelling!
The colors are eye popping and her palette is truly a unique one, with colors one has never encountered! Every color seems unusual and not quite the color one expects. When combined with a sea of extremely unusual shapes, the result is mood altering and spiritual, activating parts of the brain, normally unused.
This Vincent work is an artifact of the Bauhaus movement and one of the few known examples of female Bauhaus artists.
An important work that demonstrates the Bauhaus ethos of fusing artistic and technical elements in a composition that speaks to the brain and the soul of the observer.
Very good vintage condition. Age wear to frame, minor paint cracking from age. Age appropriate paper wear. Presents beautifully!
