A lovely and serene oil painting on board titled "Marine, White House" by American artist Charles Herbert Woodbury. Original gallery tag on verso from Vase Galleries in Boston. Estate stamped CHW-40. Impressionistic brush strokes of aqua, turquoise, and lavender hues creates a calming ocean scene. Woodbury is known for his marine painting scenes and these subject matter are highly sought after within the artist's oeuvre. Thomas Luny (1759–1837), born in Cornwall, probably at St Ewe, was an English artist and painter, mostly of seascapes and other marine-based works.
