About the Item
This is a Russian Icon Painting. The painting is made over a rectangular wood board. It depicts Saint Seraphim of Sarov with an halo around his head of abundant grey-white hair and beard. He has a Roman nose and kind blue eyes. He is dressed with a blue and grey-black color tunic that is adorned with a large cross in the center. The silver background of the painting has a cluster of diamonds and dots pattern. Its border is decorated with blue scrolls of acanthus leaves and the corners with three green leaves with flowers. Saint Seraphim is one of the most renowned Russian saints who is venerated in the Eastern Orthodox Church. He was one of the most renowned monastic figures of this Church and was also considered a spiritual teacher.
