About the Item

A Religious oil painting on canvas of Jesus Christ carrying the cross on the way to his crucifixion. This European piece of art is probably 17th-18th Century. This art piece was discovered in a small auction in Northern Sweden, and originally could have come from a Christian Church in Southern Europe such as France, Spain or Italy. We wanted to keep this artwork as original as possible as the patina is wonderful. Most likely in the 19th Century the art was relayed on a later canvas due to small damages, but the original canvas is still visible on the edges. Very presentable work of art that is ready to be hung in a home, office or gallery.
