About the Item
Opulent set of four framed painted panels in the Chinoiserie revival style. Framed oil on masonite board paintings mounted in distressed gold leaf wood frames. Each panel features a whimsical Asian motif scene of figures engaged in leisurely activities with an intriguing Jade green lacquer ground having a heavily textured finish. The panels are set in thick frames measuring nearly 4.5 feet high. Each site measures 13.5 inches wide by 49 inches high. The frames have a weathered patina contrasted by the dark paintings in the Asian aesthetic. Sold as a set of four. From an estate in San Francisco, CA.
