Bruno Krauskopf was born on 9 May 1892 in Marienburg. From 1906 to 1908 he completed an apprenticeship as a chromolithograph in Berlin, and from 1910 he began his studies under Emil Doepler at the Royal Museum of Arts and Crafts. After the outbreak of the First World War, he did his military service from 1914 to 1916 in Alsace and in Russia. In 1916 he became a member of the "Freie Secession Berlin", where Max Beckmann and Lyonel Feininger belonged too. From 1917 to 1933 he was a member of the Berlin Secession and was also a member of the executive committee and jury. In 1918 he founded the "November Group" together with Max Pechstein, Erich Mendelssohn and Georg Tappert.
