About the Item
Mural composed of twenty plates of approximately 49 by 70 centimeters, glass with quicksilver technique (painted on the back), cast and painted silver leaves giving a set of textures of luminosity and finely distributed nuances. This technique makes possible in the whole a compact integrity of the pictorial elements used in the composition. The composition of muralistic character - whose dimension is 2 meters by 3.5 meters - describes scenes where the ethnic and the pre-Columbian myth are interrelated with colonialist characters and symbols.
The visible face of the work, due to its technique, allows a reception of light with full intensity, enriching the contours and forms that the compositional drawing poses in its entirety.
The technical support used makes possible the durability and cleanliness of the work, allowing for clear observation of it.

David Alfaro Siqueiros
David Alfaro Siqueiros (born José de Jesús Alfaro Siqueiros; December 29, 1896 – January 6, 1974) was a Mexican social realist painter, best known for his large public murals using the latest in equipment, materials and technique. Along with Diego Rivera and José Clemente Orozco, he was one of the most famous of the "Mexican muralists".[1] He was a member of the Mexican Communist Party, and a Stalinist and supporter of the Soviet Union who led an unsuccessful attempt to assassinate Leon Trotsky in May 1940.
