About the Item

A Spanish Colonial painting of Jesus with child from the 19th century. This antique Spanish Colonial painting from Latin American is a beautiful depiction of Jesus, embracing a child at his right side, left arm holds the stem of a branch of flowers, and clouds at waist with a pair of cherubs with playful expressions beneath. The painting is framed within a carved and gilt wood surround, with lovely patina and chippy bits reflecting it's age, also from the 19th century. The painting is in very good condition but has some crackling, as would be expected. No artists signatures are obvious or visible. This 19th century Spanish Colonial painting of Jesus with child and cherubs is approximately 2.5 feet in width by 3.5 feet in height.
