About the Item
Swedish naive oil painting with the original frame, from the 2nd part of the 19th Century.
This folk art work on canvas represents kids and a dog playing by a courtyard, opening the gate for a horse carriage with a lady sitting in it and its driver arriving in full speed.
On the back side there is painted a text in Swedish: "Soldaterna vid grinden",
which means "Soldiers by the grind", since the small boys are wearing adults military hat on them self.
