This rare painting by Tadashi Kaminagai, titled Casario do Rio de Janeiro (1958), depicts a vibrant urban landscape of Rio in a luminous post-impressionist style. Executed in oil on duratex panel, the work is signed and dated lower right and on the reverse. It remains in excellent condition and is presented in its original wooden frame with a sculpted border. Kaminagai, a Japanese-French-Brazilian painter and close contemporary of Foujita, was a key figure in Brazilian modern art. Celebrated for his bold use of color and emotive light, his influence shaped generations of Japanese-Brazilian artists. His work is increasingly sought after, yet remains rare on the international market.
