Veikko Aaltona, (until 1942 Pälve) born December 1, 1910 in Simo, died April 20, 1990[1], was a Finnish painter mainly active in Sweden.[2] He was one of the more famous so-called hay square artists. Veikko Aaltona has painted a very large number of paintings, mostly exotic landscapes with camels and palm trees or vaguely biblical figures. The paint is applied with a palette knife. Light intensity is expressed by the use of pure cadmium yellow.[
