About the Item
Superbly painted in a brilliant palette of gold, deep pink, green and gray, this quintessential Art Deco illustration depicts a golden female figure with a fashionable hat and scarf, gesturing languorously toward a landscape with pink hills and receding trees. Executed in ink, gouache and gold paint, the artist's elegant line and economy of scale is very fine, reminiscent of the best work of Stanley W. Reynolds and Eduardo García Benito. It is signed in the lower righthand corner, but the name has been difficult to decipher. The painting is floating on a mirror background, and given a frame with a mirrored finish (now showing signs of wear and tarnish). Dimensions include frame; size of painting is 6 inches high by 5.75 inches wide.
