Marcus Tremonto occupies a rare position in contemporary art and design: an artist who does not merely use light but thinks with it. Tremonto’s studio, Treluce Studios n.y.c — founded in 2002 with his partner Monica Tremonto — has become a laboratory for reimagining how illumination can shape perception, emotion, and spatial experience. Tremonto is often described as an artist who “draws with light,” a phrase that captures both the delicacy and precision of his approach. This idea — that light can be drawn, carved, or folded — remains central to his practice. Tremonto’s works often appear as lines suspended in space, glowing ribbons, or geometric constellations.
