About the Item
This very provacative romantic arresting photograph by the noted multi media artist named Dara Freidman is a chromogenic print on Fugi Crystal Archive paper. It is a very limited edition of only 10 were ever made. This one was from 2002 and is 6/10. It is from the romance series of 2001 and titled Redbird. There were 5 photographs in this series documented in her hard covered book of the work of Dara Freidman. She was German born and bridges mediums of film, photography and media. Her stimulus for this series was greatly inspired by her time spent in Rome studying at the Royal Academy of Art shortly after having a baby girl named Violet. Her long enduring walks with her daughter in her baby pram initiated an interest after watching day after day of couples making out intensely in public view. A lightbulb then occured. She then filmed them until her unguarded behavior of sheer curiosity was being questioned by onlookers and bystanders over time. That ended that. This is thought provoking and intriquing as it looks like a mystifying out of focus long kiss. She is now living in the United States. All hallmarked in the back with labels from the photogrpaher.
This belongs to a private collector who purchased the piece custom framed from the time. This is the only one he was able to acquire. The wood has some damage on one corner as well as the lucite in one corner is cracked. It will not be fixed. it is heavy so it needs to be trucked.
The inside dimension of the photograph as it stands now framed is 27" W x 20H.
