About the Item
A colour coupler print by Gregory Crewdson executed sometime between 1992-1997. Matte opening is 36 × 45 inches and the photograph is 1/4 inch larger on each side. Overall frame size is 41.5 × 50.5 inches and 1.375 inches wide. It has been archivalley matted and put behind UV protective plexiglass. This photograph is an edition of 6 from the “Natural Wonder” series. It was purchased from the Luhring-Augustine Gallery in the late 1990’s. This photograph is pictured in his book “Dream of Life” from 1998. If you know about this artist he is quite unique in his approach. Everything in this photo was taxidermied and the leg is a cast of the artist own leg. He has become quite the important photographer in the ensuing years. A brief google search will fill you in on his unique approach to art.
There is a 1/8 inch crease near the center top, difficult to see unless you know where to look. New frame some minor handling marks.
