This large Antique Albumen Photograph, Framed, RomanForum, 19th Century is quite incredible and would be a fascinating historical artifact. Albumen prints were a popular photographic method in the 19th century, characterized by their fine detail and glossy finish, produced using egg white to bind the photographic chemicals to the paper. The photo has a sepia tone, typical of albumen prints, giving it a warm brownish hue. The image shows some fading, stains, and discoloration. There are darker vertical lines where the photo must have been rolled. Despite the fair condition, you still see intricate architectural details of the Forum, capturing its grandeur and historical significance. The photo measures 30" x 66" itself.
