More recent than Guerlain, the Sauzé Frères perfume factory was located inMénelotte Street in Colombes in 1913. For fifty years it produced perfumes and luxury colognes. They were the first French Perfumers to create art posters for Perfumes.
Metlicovitz was born in the Adriatic port city of Trieste and seems to have become a painter and portraitist without any formal training. In 1891, he went to Milan to the Ricordi printing school as a lithography trainee, and at the end of a year he was promoted to technical director.
