Created by Gerry and Sylvia Anderson, 'Thunderbirds' combined a form of electronic marionette puppetry, which they named "Supermarionation," with scale model special effects sequences. Set in the 2060s, 'Thunderbirds' followed on from the Anderson's earlier Supermarionation productions including 'Fireball XL5' and 'Stingray.'
