Original antique advertising poster for an Exhibition of Pictures and Sketches by W.G. von Glehn
L. Monod at the Goupil Gallery 5 Regent Street Waterloo Place in London held in February 1899 featuring artwork by the English painter Wilfrid de Glehn (1870-1951) depicting a lady by a river waving to red sailing boats with hills in the distance and smoke rising from a view of houses on the waterside with the sun on the horizon below. The London branch of the French Goupil
Cie (Goupil
Co) art gallery and print shop was opened in 1857, located on Regent Street from 1893-1931. The painter and lithographer Lucien Hector Monod (1867-1957) lived in Cannes in the South of France where he would paint together with his cousin Wilfrid de Glehn. Good condition, creasing, repaired tears, staining.
